This extendable dining table, crafted from solid wood, can be dismantled for flat-pack transport. It is the first piece in the Clementine Caurier Collection.
The project was initially conceived for an apartment in Porto, Portugal, designed by the Portuguese architects Pablopita. The Rua Cha apartment features almost no 90-degree angles, and the kitchen offered only a narrow space for a table seating around ten people.
To ensure smooth circulation, respect the highly geometric architectural concept, and introduce a sense of softness, I designed a narrow, corner-free dining table that can be extended when needed.
I collaborated with local Portuguese craftsmen and carpentry workshops to prototype the piece. From this fruitful collaboration, I decided to further develop the concept into a small production with the same partners. This is the final result after years of prototyping.
